DocPoint Festival

28 January – 3 February

The field of product design is more and more problematic everyday, and not least because of the scarcity of materials. The ever-inspiring documentary film festival DocPoint is arranged again at the end of January, and this year the programme includes multiple critically acclaimed works regarding the origins of materials we use in our everyday lives. Wouldn’t it be interesting to know more about growing bamboo in Bangladesh (Shaheen Dill-Riaz: Bamboo Stories), or where oil comes from (Jasmin Herold, Michael Beamish: Dark Eden), or why are the forests turning into plantations in order to grow wood fast enough (François-Xavier Drouet: Le Temps des Forêts)? Also on our list: Daniel Zimmermann’s forest meditation, consisting of a series of 360 photos.
