You are warmly welcome

The cornerstone of Helsinki Design Week is multidisciplinary cooperation with design professionals and enthusiasts. Working together is important to us.

On this page, you will find information about how you can help make Helsinki Design Week happen.

Suggest your event for the festival programme through the Open Call, list your space to HDW Open Spaces, become a vendor at the Design Market or at the Little Market, design an installation, or join us as a volunteer!

Subscribe to Helsinki Design Weekly to always be the first to know when the open calls begin.

Helsinki Design Week will be held 6–16 September 2018.

Open call for programme events

Every year a very important part of the festival programme is completed with selected events from an open call for programme entries. These events will become part of the official festival programme and Helsinki Design Week’s marketing communications.

Arrange a fashion show, open your studio doors or hold a service design workshop – any kind of event is welcome!

The application period has ended for this year! We thank all the applicants for participating. If you wish to add your event to our  programme, please contact producer Jenny Järvinen, jenny.jarvinen@helsinkidesignweek.com

If you are still looking for a space in which to host your event, see the locations that have been offered through our call for

Open Spaces here

HDW Open Spaces

HDW introduces a new way to participate in our festival: HDW Open Spaces. We challenge venue holders to take a different look at their environment. Would it be suitable to also host a design event?

We are combining the available urban spaces with the design event organizers in need of them.

Become a vendor at the Design Market

The Design Market will be held 8–9 September at 11 am – 6 pm at the Cable Factory. The Design Market has grown from a stock sale event into a festival of its own. About two hundred vendors sell furniture, clothing, accessories and interior items, and the ever-changing programme has something for everyone interested in design, including children. The Print Market gathers vendors of fine printed items and stationery, and the New Market presents new and interesting design.

The application period has ended 8 June 2018.

Become a vendor at the Little Market

The Little Market is part of HDW Children’s Week and will be held at Children’s Weekend on 15–16 September 10 am – 4 pm at Kattilahalli, Suvilahti. Vendors will sell their new children’s collections and products – clothing, accessories and interior items. Besides the Little Market, the Children’s Weekend offers creative design and architecture workshops for children and families.

The application period has ended 8 June 2018.
