Currently, an international health crisis keeps the entire world captivated. Helsinki Design Week is monitoring the developments regarding this outbreak of COVID-19 (also known as the coronavirus) daily. At this moment, we’re proceeding with the event in September as originally scheduled. It is hard to predict how the situation will develop in the upcoming weeks and months and we will maintain to follow this closely and keep you updated if any changes occur.

Helsinki Design Week 2020 will be held 3–13 September.  

Helsinki Design Week presents the new faces and phenomena of design in collaboration with various partners. The festival offers citizens a forum to participate in developing and discussing the city and its culture. The programme contains around 250 events every year, and includes events targeted to both professionals and the general public. 

Helsinki Design Week 2020 will be held at the legendary Olympic Stadium. In addition, the programme spreads throughout the city to a variety of event spaces: from museums to markets, from seminar halls to secret shops. The festival also actively seeks new spaces and ways to explore the city.

Tickets and the Festival Pass

Buying tickets

Separate tickets are sold for the shows and panels at the main venue and some events require a registration. Most of the events have free entry.

Tickets are sold in the Helsinki Design Week webshop. 


What is the Festival Pass?

Festival Pass gives Helsinki Design Week visitors personalized tips and reminders about the events and themes they are interested in. 

Festival Pass holders receive special offers and discounts for certain Helsinki Design Week events and exhibitions. More information will be available before the festival. 

The Festival Pass is free.

Once you have registered, please fill in the form to let us know what events and themes you are interested in. You will receive tips and reminders about the programme directly to your email.


Students are eligible for a -50% discount off all event tickets. When purchasing tickets online, please use the discount code STUDENT. 

Discounted tickets are also granted to other special groups (pensioners, disabled, unemployed, conscripts and civil servants). Please use the code HDWDISCOUNT.

Please note! You will be asked to present Student ID or other proof for receiving the discount when entering.
