The Herbarium Project x Studio Roscoe brings together botanics, art and design. A novel way of perceiving a herbarium, it is a collection of botanical artefacts and visual pieces of information exhibited downstairs in Studio Roscoe. There will be three open workshops where participants get to create their own botanical art, get in touch with wood and pour natural scented candles. Studio Roscoe is also open for visiting during the opening hours of the exhibition.

Fri 18-20 Natural Scented Candle Lab
Sat 12-14 Lilac Crochet Hooks
Sun 12-14 Botanical Composition

The Herbarium Project is the Master’s Thesis project of Maiju Eliisa Koskela, who is graduating this fall from Aalto University’s School of Art and Design. Through her work she explores the versatile qualities of plants and seeks ways to present their beauty and potential. Her aim is to use design to bring people in contact with plants, and to raise curiosity and respect towards other species.

Studio Roscoe is a beautiful, multi-disciplinary creative space and photo studio founded and managed by photographer Riikka Kantinkoski.
