DISCUSSION SERIES (only in Finnish)
The episodes of the discussion series in the form of a podcast will be published on the page mfa.fi/vapaa as follows: Thu 03.09., Mon 07.09., Thu 10.09 and Fri 11.09.
The disruption caused by climate change requires a complete redefinition of the prevailing society. For the required life change to be possible, we need to see a post-crisis future: a world worth pursuing, albeit completely changed. According to various estimates, the built environment produces about 40% of greenhouse gas emissions. It is clear that current means are not enough to combat the crisis, but on the other hand, the figures show that architects have a key role in changing the direction.
The Aesthetics of Disruption is a discussion series and an exhibition in the Studio of the Museum of Finnish Architecture. The project highlights the essential role of architecture in the climate issue and invites various voices inside and outside the field of architecture to the debate. The installation will be completed as the discussions progress. The final form of the exhibition will not be seen until the last word has been said.
More detailed information on the themes, dates and participants of the discussions will be updated on the Facebook Event page and Museum of Finnish Architecture’s website.
The project is curated by VAPAA Collective.
