The Spanish Ambassador’s residence, Villa Himberg, was created by Aarne Ervin in 1954.

Designer Carlos Ortega will participate in the Design Diplomacy discussion at the Spanish residence with Laura Väre, the young designer of the year 2019.

Carlos Ortega Design produces and designs furniture, lighting, consumer goods as well as architectural solutions, mainly made of wood. Inspired by materials and manufacturing processes, Carlos Ortega delivers top quality and long-lasting products. The products are developed to be desirable products that perform well and are driven by the observation of usability and the identification of needs. The hands-on experience inspires us and allows us to produce our own designs, providing top quality products with added value that distinguish them from others.

Laura Väre is a Helsinki based designer. She has a background as a metal artisan and has a degree in furniture design from Lahti Institute of Design. In addition to this Laura has a Master´s degree in design at the department of Applied Arts in Aalto University School of Art, Design and Architecture.
