All kind of movies

February is a perfect time for movie nerds. Russian Film Festival celebrates its 10-year-anniversary and focuses especially in Russian women directors. All movies are subtitled in English.

This month, the Image magazine’s film club offers a preview of Moonlight. After the movie there is a discussion about the film.

And if you want to see Finnish short films (in Finnish), take a look at Kevyesti kerran kuussa under the theme love.

In honour of the centenary of Finnish independence in 2017, Design Museum will open its completely renewed collections exhibition. This exhibition presents the integral role of design in the evolution of the Finnish welfare state. It has five themes illustrating the history of design through living stories. Olafur Eliasson – Pentagonal Landscapes
Danish-Icelandic Olafur Eliasson (born 1967) is a contemporary artist who explores the relationship between people and their surroundings. The works included in the presentation, the majority of which were created within the last six years, explore many of the artist’s key interests, such as light, optics, mirrors, architecture, orientation, and landscape. Created in a close dialogue between EMMA and Studio Olafur Eliasson, the presentation is a continuation of the museum’s exhibitions of contemporary art, which display diverse perspectives on topical themes.
