The winner of Nordic Fashion Association's (NFA) sustainable fashion competition is designer Saara Lepokorpi from Finland. The competition was organised under NFA's project Nordic Initiative Clean and Ethical (NICE) and Copenhagen Fashion Summit promoting responsible fashion. Helsinki Design Week is one of the five founding members of Nordic Fashion Association. The success of the Finnish team was completed by Anu Salonen, who was given an honorable mention.
Helsinki Madrid FINDESIGN, the main exhibition for Finnish Design Month in Madrid, took place 4 November 2009 – 10 January 2010 at the Contemporary Art Center in Matadero. The exhibition was produced by Helsinki Design Week together with Huippu Design Management.
