As a part of the Home Revisited – exhibition, a dutch designer Jan Belon will introduce the audience to IoT-Home on 12th of September at 5 pm at Iittala & Arabia Design Centre.
Jan Belon is a co-founder of the Rotterdam-based design studio Afdeling Buitengewone Zaken. He will be giving a talk focusing on the future IoT home, with topics like privacy, feeling at home and the transformative role of the home.
Afdeling Buitengewone Zaken’s core is a team of dedicated system designers, who specialise in transforming ideas and visions into tangible products, services and experiences. Jan studied Industrial Design at the Technical University of Eindhoven. For his graduation thesis he researched the topic of loneliness and its impact on the elderly, a project which kickstarted his passion for service design, social innovation and start-ups. As designer, entrepreneur and researcher Jan is also initiator of the online food marketplace, Locafora, and the startup Openr.
